Spectrum Federal Credit Union, San Francisco, has collected over 11 barrels of clothing to Goodwill’s Job Success Through Better Dress program. The program helps job seekers by providing low-income individuals with business attire for job interviews. Saugus Federal Credit Union, Mass., has raised $1,400 for the Credit Unions of Massachusetts Kids at Heart project to benefit the Children’s Hospital. Staffers raised funds by sporting NFL Patriots’ gear and hosting a prize drawing for four tailgate party packages. San Francisco Fire Credit Union, has donated $11,000 to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation through its Touchdown for Tots program. The credit union donated $250 for every touchdown made by the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers this past season. The Burn Foundation provides fire prevention and education services along with ongoing survivor support for patients and family members. Michiana Credit Union, Elkhart, Ind., President/CEO Dallas W. Bergl donned an apron and order pad to raise money for the Child Abuse Prevention Services of Elkhart County. Bergl, along with other community leaders were asked to become wait staff for a day at the local Texas Roadhouse restaurant. Guests were asked to pay $20 for a meal and were charged for every service offered, from bringing napkins and refills to even paying for silverware. Over 10,000 was raised during the event. Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Gaithersburg , Md., has raised $836 for the Children’s Miracle network during the Have A Heart campaign. Pink paper hearts were sold for $1 each to members. All proceeds from the sale of hearts were matched dollar for dollar by the credit union.
