PASADENA, Calif. – Wescom Credit Union says it reached a new milestone recently when the 100,000th user signed up for the 200,000-member CU's Internet banking service. The growth of Wescom's eBranch service was helped along by the introduction of free bill pay last June. The credit union also has offered inter-institution transfer services since 1999, something that many other financial institutions are just beginning to offer, said Darren Williams, president and CEO of $2.5 billion Wescom. He said eBranch was also one of the first CUs to offer online check images and statements and e-mail account alerts. “Wescom is meeting the ongoing need for a financial institution to offer its members convenient and superior retail service that is mirrored by reliable, secure and user-friendly online service,” Williams said.
