WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Credit Union League's Small Credit Union Task Force distributed a record $21,272 to 22 credit unions for the 2003 Small Credit Union Technology & Planning and Governmental Affairs Conference grant programs. Over the four years the program have been in effect, it has awarded more than $50,000 to 49 Iowa CUs for technology or planning needs, and for eight CUs to attend CUNA's GAC. This year, the task force expanded the pool of eligible credit unions to those with less than $15 million in assets, up from $7 million in previous years. The group also added strategic planning to the technology grant and increased the grant cap to $1,000 per credit union.
