HOLLYWOOD – If anyone can make predictions on who will win this year's Academy Awards, the members of First Entertainment Credit Union can. “First Entertainment members are the people who make the Academy Awards possible because they are the make-up artists, camera operators, lighting experts, costumers and others whose work you see up on the screen,” said Charles Bruen, president/CEO of First Entertainment. “Our members are the real industry insiders, so they have special insight when it comes to the Academy Awards.” Each year ,members cast their predictions on who will win an Oscar. Nearly 67% predict “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King,” will win for Best Picture. Johnny Depp for his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” garnered 40% of the vote for Best Actor, while 60.9% agreed that the Best Actress Oscar should go to Charlize Theron for her portrayal of a female serial killer in “Monster.” Nearly 53% felt that Tim Robbins should win the Supporting Actor Oscar for “Mystic River,” and 55% voted for Renee Zellweger to win for Supporting Actress for “Cold Mountain.” First Entertainment has 55,000 members and more than $465 million in assets.
