TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – The board of directors has named Caren Gabriel its new president/CEO of AEDC Federal Credit Union. Gabriel came to AEDC in 1985 as its staff attorney. She later became the credit union’s executive vice president and general counsel. “I am honored to accept my new role,” Gabriel said. “This credit union is on the verge of some very exciting possibilities.” Gabriel succeeds Jimmie Bearden, who retired on Jan. 23 as president/CEO of AEDC after 36 years at the helm. Bearden started as a clerk at AEDC in 1956. Gabriel previously worked as an attorney and labor relations administrator for Pan Am World Services, Inc. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association’s Credit Union Committee and the Coffee County Bar Association. She also served as director of the Tennessee Credit Union League from 1994 to 2000. “We want to continue Mrs. Bearden’s successful legacy,” Gabriel said. “We hope to continue to build on the success she has created.”
