MIRAMAR, Fla.-Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union started the New Year with a new business services department, which generated $2 million in business loans in its first month. Bert Bryan, vice president of business services for the $1.8 billion credit union, commented, “Assembling a team of six experts with over 60 years of business lending experience was a key factor in getting this initiative off the ground. Leveraging the existing capabilities of our credit union allowed us to hit the ground running and effectively serve this obvious need in our field of membership of over six million people. Our biggest challenge will be handling the demand, but we are well prepared.” Bryan added that the credit union has partnered with information technology partner Aurum Technology, Inc. to make the services possible, in addition to a number of employees. “This combination of talent and technology will allow us to achieve our ambitious goals,” he said. EFFCU serves over 181,000 members in Miramar, Fla. with 18 branches throughout South Florida and the Tampa Bay Region.
