Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, Anchorage, has named Retail Sales Officer Cindy Fry the 2003 Employee of the Year and Accounting Manager Jennifer Caldwell the 2003 Manager of the Year. Award recipients are chosen based on their proficiency, professionalism, dedication, consistency of performance, initiative, and their contribution to the credit union’s member service and financial goals. Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, Gaithersburg, Md., has been presented the Golden Shovel by the City of Gaithersburg for helping to beautify the city with its premiere branch. The facility features a sleek, high-tech design complete with a plasma screen television for members to view the latest news reports and other credit union programming. State Employees Credit Union, Lansing, Mich., has presented Debbie Lang the organization’s second annual Creative, Optimistic, Respected, and Empowered (C.O.R.E.) Award. This award is given to an employee who lives SECU’s core values, provides extraordinary service to members and co-workers, and makes their job fun. Greater Iowa Credit Union, Ames, Iowa, has been recognized by the Ames Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to diversity. As the recipient of the 2004 Ames Chamber of Commerce Diversity Award, GICU was recognized for making a positive impact on the Ames community in regards to diversity-related initiatives and making diversity a priority in their business strategy. The mission of the award is to increase awareness, generate energy, and recognize excellence in diversity in the Ames business community.
