TALLAHASSEE, Fla – The $3.9 billion Southeast Corporate's business services CUSO -Member Business Solutions, LLC (MBS) -has launched its Web site at www.MBSLLC.org The site was produced entirely in-house and features the latest in XHTML and CSS technologies, Macromedia Flashr Multi-Media and a live video stream. Formed late last year, MBS gives credit unions use of an in-house commercial loan department. The corporate says it hopes MBS will fill a need for credit unions that can't afford a full-blown business services operation. The small business market is made up of 10.3 million companies and firms and only 3% of that uses a credit union. Over half of all small businesses would utilize business services such as checking, and credit cards, while over 40% would also require vehicle or commercial property loans. Heading up MBS for Southeast is Jim Gallagher, Senior Vice President of Business Services. Prior to joining Southeast, Gallagher spent 20 years in commercial banking. Northwest Corporate was the first corporate to launch a business services CUSO, with FirstCorp and later Empire coming on board as owners. Other corporates say they are still evaluating how to best help members with business services.
