WASHINGTON-CUNA has added four more key lawmakers for credit unions to its speakers’ list for the 2004 Governmental Affairs Conference slated for Feb. 22-25. Joining the speakers’ list most recently are Senate Banking Committee Ranking Member Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.), House Financial Services Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-Mass.), and Financial Services Committee Members Ed Royce (R-Calif.) and Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), also co-authors of the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 3579). CUNA had previously announced that Senate Banking Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), House Financial Services Committee Chairman Mike Oxley (R-Ohio), Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan, Treasury Secretary John Snow, and all three NCUA Board members, among others, would be making appearances at the GAC.
