HARRISBURG, Pa. – Tim Blase was named director, supervision and enforcement by Pennsylvania Secretary of Banking William Schenck. Blase, a 13-year veteran of the Department of Banking – most recently as financial institutions examiner supervisor – will oversee the supervision of all state-chartered financial institutions and licensees regulated by the Department. He is also responsible for the newly developed off-site monitoring program. Previously, the supervision and enforcement responsibilities of the Department was split into depository institutions and non-depository licensees, but they’ve been combined. “By combining them under one manager, we’re able to implement best practices across the Department and substantially increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our efforts,” said Secretary Schenck.
