Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union, Miramar, Fla., has joined forces with companies such as Dewar’s and Univision as a presenting sponsor for the 2003 Latin Business Club of America Annual Awards of Excellence. EFFCU presented the award for Female Television Personality of the Year to Barbara Bermudo of Univision, the nation’s largest Spanish language television network. The prestigious Latin Business Club of America Award of Excellence is presented in 12 categories and features past recipients such as the late Celia Cruz and current winners, including Latino of the Year winner Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, music star Willy Chirino, winner of Performer of the Year, and children’s advocates Amigos Together for Kids, winners of the Humanitarian of the Year award. Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union, has recently celebrated Collections Coordinator Judi Neipert’s 30 years of service to the credit union. Neipert has helped the credit union grow from a single branch to $100 million in assets. Redwood Credit Union, Santa Rosa, Calif., has named online member Beth Snow the $1,500 grand prizewinner of the RCU Bill Pay Sweepstakes. RCU’s Bill Pay Sweepstakes encouraged members to take advantage of their free and convenient bill pay service. Each time a member scheduled a bill to be paid through the service, they were entered into a drawing. South Carolina Federal Credit Union, North Charleston, has taken top honors in CUNA’s 2003 ELLY Awards. S.C. FCU CEO Robert Dargan and the rest of the management team took first place in the Training Champion Award; the training team also walked away as the merit winner in the Training Professional of the Year Award. In addition E-learning Specialist Kelly Hall was presented the first place E-learning Award. First place and awards of merit were presented in six categories to credit unions across the country for their excellence in training.
