AUSTIN, Texas – Austin Federal Credit Union is literally providing staffers and board directors access to credit union information on-the-go. In an effort to securely share internal credit union documents the credit union has ordered the CryptoStick from Cray, North Carolina-based Research Triangle Software. The CryptoStick is a portable encryption device that is small enough to fit on a key chain complete with software to keep files secure and protected. The device also enables private Internet browsing, mobile email and file synchronization. According to Research Triangle Software, the device can potentially hold up to three times as much data due to a compression feature. Austin FCU is also exploring ways for the CryptoStick to be used as another platform through which members can interact with the credit union.
