WASHINGTON-A varying array of hot button topics will be the focus of the breakout sessions at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference slated for Feb. 22-25. During the Feb. 23 session, breakout workshops will cover everything from financial privacy to the bankers' attacks to small business services. Breakouts will also touch on changes to the dual chartering system, regulator relief, leveraging Project Differentiation and Project Zip Code, and election campaign involvement. Several top-notch speakers have already been announced by CUNA, including Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan, House Financial Services Chairman Mike Oxley (R-Ohio), and Treasury Secretary John Snow. In addition, State Employees Credit Union (N.C.) CEO Jim Blaine has accepted a challenge to debate American Bankers Association Chairman Ken Fergeson, also chairman of NBandC, a $270 million institution in Altus, Okla.
