LANSING, Mich. -State Employees Credit Union member Daren Ferden has recently won $50,000 on popular NBC television show Fear Factor. The 25-year-old winner says as a credit union member for the past six years he’s learned the importance of saving and wants to share the message with other young adults. SECU has since featured Ferden in a television commercial where he says, “You know, when I was on Fear Factor I had to do some crazy things to win. But when it comes to my money, I don’t take any chance, I belong to State Employees Credit Union.” Ferden’s Fear Factor victory came after he swam under a lake of fire and munched on live worms. As for his winnings- Ferden has invested it with SECU and MEMBERS Financial Services.
