HONOLULU – Ron Ogata may have retired as credit union CEO of HawaiiUSA FCU but he's staying active in the industry as chairman of the Hawaii CU League. "The passion still burns within for my love of credit unions. I want to make all of the people in Hawaii aware of credit unions and what we can do for them," said Ogata. Ogata has a long wish list for what he hopes the league can accomplish, which includes everything from increasing credit union membership by 15% in 2003-2004 and initiating an active program of Financial Literacy for Students in Hawaii, to starting a Business Lending Program.
