MADISON, Wis. – CUES is inviting daredevils to take a ride on the "intense, fast-paced" Congressional Insight roller coaster of sorts at 2004′s Public Policy Institute. The Congressional Insight computer simulation, to be featured for the first time at the Public Policy Institute to be held in Washington on Feb. 17-20, is described as an immersion "in the real world of a federal legislator," according to CUES' Web site. "This powerful program gives you a clear perspective on the legislative process by making decisions as members of Congress do. Under an intense deadline, teams will decide which bills to support, which committee posts to seek and what tradeoffs to make amidst constituent, party, special interest and media pressures." CUES and The Brookings Institute are co-sponsors of the Public Policy Institute, which highlights the process of developing public policy, identifying the key players, what legislation will impact credit unions in the future and how the changing economic climate will impact financial markets.
