SAN FRANCISCO – In the spirit of holiday giving, Credit.com has offered consumers a free Identity Theft Defense Package during the month of December. The one-year defense package includes a free credit report, identity theft/Internet fraud insurance and crisis resolution services. Credit.com was co-founded in 1995 by former New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Director Adam Levin to provide consumers one-stop access to a number of credit resources and products. “Make no mistake, there’s nothing cute or clever about identity theft,” said Levin. “Identity thieves are parasites who feed on the lives of innocent people – vicious criminals who are willing to wipe out a family’s dreams just to finance a shopping spree. At a time of year that’s fundamentally about giving, we want to do what we can to help protect the givers from the takers.”
