WABASH, Ind. – Beacon Credit Union is the 2003 `Wabash Area Business of the Year,' accorded the honor by the Wabash Area Chamber of Commerce. In a recent ceremony at a Chamber dinner held in a Wabash community arts center and theater complex and which drew nearly 400 including political and business dignitaries including state lawmakers, the $442-million CU was recognized for being a "good corporate citizen" and for the active role employees play in community involvement. The award, said Bruce Ingraham, president and CEO of the 30,000 member CU, recognizes the "commitment of providing quality products and services" to the area "with a basic and conservative business approach."
