MADISON, Wis. – Suzanne Cowan, a board member of Corporate Central Credit Union and the president of Wisconsin Education Association Credit Union was appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle (D) as the state's new Director of the Office of Credit Unions. Cowan replaces Ginger Larson who was appointed to the position by Gov. Doyle's predecessor, Scott McCallum. In addition to her current responsibilities on the board of Corporate Central CU, Cowan also formerly served as the corporate credit union's chairman. Cowan will head a staff of 19 who oversee the regulation and examination of credit unions in Wisconsin. She will work closely with the Secretary of the Department of Financial Institutions to ensure the safety and soundness of financial institutions in Wisconsin.
