VIENNA, Va. – The 33rd Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Michael Hagee, celebrated the 228th birthday of the Marine Corps at Navy FCU’s headquarters Nov. 6. In addition to Hagee, other notables who joined the event and cake cutting ceremony were Navy FCU’s President/CEO Brian McDonnell, several retired and active duty reserve Marines who are NFCU employees, other Navy FCU staff, and “Chesty”, an English bulldog and the official Marine Corps mascot. Speaking to the crowd of attendees, Gen. Hagee noted Navy FCU’s support of the Marine Corps for the past 70 years. “Marines will do almost anything to belong to Navy Federal, some driving several miles to the nearest branch office. There’s only one reason they do that.the excellent service you provide to us. And we thank you.” Navy FCU, the world’s largest credit union, has more than $19.9 billion in assets and over 2.4 million members worldwide.
