RALEIGH, N.C. -State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) has recently developed and published a $martMoney booklet for its FAT CAT program aimed at members up to age 12. “Financial literacy is the primary focus of SECU’s youth programs and our goal is to provide our young members with the foundation for a successful financial future,” said SECU Education Services Senior Vice President Leigh Brady. “FAT CAT’s $mart Money booklet is a teaching tool that makes learning fun and we are excited to have it available.” Designed for elementary and middle school students, FAT CAT’s $mart Money booklet covers an array of topics ranging from credit union history and money management, to the various credit union services offered to FAT CAT members and members of all ages. In addition, with quizzes and puzzles throughout the publication to illustrate and highlight the concepts covered the booklet can also help parents teach their children about finances. Launched in November 2000, the popular FAT CAT program now boasts over 68,151 accounts.
