CORVALLIS, Ore. - The $383 million Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union has won CUNA Technology Council's eSolutions Best Practice Award at its eighth annual conference. Purdue is a client of credit union data processor Summit Information Systems, a Fiserv subsidiary. The credit union worked with Summit to develop its eMember portal, PEFCU Online, which was key for it winning the award. The portal allows members to create their own user ID and password via the CU's Web site. Members can use the portal to set up cross account access to multiple approved accounts. For example, a member logging into their primary account can cross over to their child's account without ever logging out. In addition to online banking and bill pay, Purdue Employees CU's online presence includes account aggregation, person-to-person payments, e-statements, and electronic alerts, which was developed in-house using an XML interface to Summit. Purdue also allows members to change their own information (mailing address and e-mail address) on their own from the site.
