ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA plans to open its new office in Tempe, Ariz. Nov. 1, a day ahead of the agency’s original schedule. Although both the Concord, Calif. and Tempe Region VI offices will be open temporarily during the transition, after Nov. 1, mail and telephone calls for Region VI should be directed to the new Tempe office: 1230 West Washington Street, Suite 301 Tempe, AZ 85281 (Phone) 602-302-6000 (Fax) 602-302-6020 (E-mail) [email protected] “Obviously, we have a lot of people here putting a lot of work into this to make it run smoothly. We are very pleased,” NCUA Writer/Editor Molly Schar said. The realignment was announced in January 2003 as part of NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar’s Accountability in Management initiative to increase agency efficiency. Specifics of the realignment plan were announced in July. The states, which are currently divided into six regions, will be cut down to five at the start of the New Year. The Chicago office will continue operating under a greatly reduced workload-covering just Wisconsin-until April 3, 2004 when it will be closed permanently. [email protected]
