ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA plans to open its new office in Tempe, Ariz. Nov. 1, a day ahead of the agency's original schedule. We are very pleased," NCUA Writer/Editor Molly Schar said. The realignment was announced in January 2003 as part of NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar's Accountability in Management initiative to increase agency efficiency. Specifics of the realignment plan were announced in July. The states, which are currently divided into six regions, will be cut down to five at the start of the New Year. The Chicago office will continue operating under a greatly reduced workload-covering just Wisconsin-until April 3, 2004 when it will be closed permanently. [email protected]
