For many, technology holds the key to greater security and biometric sales are expected to heat up according to The Global Biometrics Market Survey by the Business Communications Company, which studies major market, economic, and technological developments. Here is a look at some of the findings: *By 2007 the biometric market should hit $3.4 billion, up from $946 million in 2002. *Finger scan technology is leading the biometrics market and should grow 29% per year until 2007. *Facial scan and voice scan use won't match finger scan, but they will probably grow faster than any other biometrics technology, at 33.3% and 31.5% respectively. *Iris and retina scan technology will grow more slowly, at 18% and 19.5%, respectively. *Biometric technologies are becoming an accepted part of high-security installations. *Roughly 30% of help calls to IT departments are for resetting passwords, each costing about $15 to $20 in work hours -biometrics could help cut those costs.
