DALLAS -Southwest Corporate FCU will host its 26th annual Economic Forum, “Currents of Change,” on Oct. 28-29 at the Westin Galleria. Previously held in November, the decision to move the conference to an earlier date was made to accommodate credit unions involved in setting annual budgets at year-end, according to forum organizers. Among the names on the speakers list are: Laurence Meyer, former Federal Reserve Board governor; Christopher Low, chief economist, First Tennessee Capital Markets; Ray Perryman, president, The Perryman Group; Maddy Dytchwald, vice president, Age Wave, Inc.; Dr. Charles Idol, economist and SCFCU consultant; and Bill Hampel, senior economist, CUNA. Forum speakers will analyze both the positive and negative influences at work in the economy, providing a balance of national, regional, demographic, Wall Street and credit union perspectives. The Economic Forum will also feature lunch with football Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach, now chairman and CEO of The Staubach Company, a global full-service real estate strategy and services firm, and a bonus session on benchmarking techniques by Harold Fried, professor of economics at Union College in New York. Fried has completed seven projects for the Filene Research Institute. On Oct. 27, preceding the start of the Economic Forum, Southwest Corporate will hold a Product Expo to showcase its line-up of e-services including: check imaging, electronic bill payment, Internet banking, ACH origination and card services. TranZact! product demonstrations and information also will be available. The same day, clients of Southwest Corporate FCU’s Investment Services (formerly known as Network Investment Advisory Services and CUSOURCE Capital Markets) will be able to attend a free Investment Services Seminar.
