WASHINGTON-The Treasury Department has named Dan Iannicola, Jr. to the post of deputy assistant secretary for financial education. At Treasury, Iannicola is responsible for overseeing the Office of Financial Education and advising the assistant secretary of financial institutions on development, implementation, and analysis of policy in financial education. Since 2002, he has been serving as special counsel to the assistant secretary and director of communications in the Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education. Before that, Iannicola served as counsel for The May Department Stores Company and vice president/regulatory liaison for the May National Banks in St. Louis, Mo. Iannicola earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his juris doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law.
