DM Federal Credit Union, Tucson, Ariz., employee association members donated their time to prepare a warm meal for families staying at Tucson’s Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is a temporary home-away-from-home, where the families of children being treated for serious illnesses or trauma reside while the child receives treatment at a nearby medical facility. It is also a place where children who are receiving outpatient treatment are able to spend time with their families in a warm and cheerful environment. St. Louis Community Credit Union, Mo., has donated over 300 teddy bears and other stuffed animals to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The donation was part of the credit union’s efforts to support the work of the hospital staff and to bring a little joy into the lives of seriously ill children. The credit union’s staff collected the stuffed animals throughout the summer. Capital Communications Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., newly formed Capital Communications Cares Foundation (CCCF) can dub this “the summer of giving.” The Foundation presented a $250 check to Joseph House and Shelter in Troy and will also provide hot meals for approximately 40 people at the shelter on two days this fall. The shelter has been filled to capacity with families in need since 2000. In addition, CCCF donated 445 pounds of food to the Food Pantries for the Capital District . The food was collected during a month-long food drive that was open to members and employees. Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union, employees have recently helped raise money for Operation Santa Claus by selling T-shirts at a Red Baron’s Baseball Game. The credit union gave away over 1,000 Commemorative Edition Water Bottles and almost 5,000 glow sticks to fans in attendance. The T-Shirt sale raised over $2500. And the money goes to needy families to help purchase Christmas presents.
