WASHINGTON-CUNA recently expressed their gratitude toRepresentatives Judy Biggert (R-Ill.) and David Scott (D-Ga.) forintroducing legislation to create a commission that would combineeconomic and personal finance education for students. TheCommission to Educate our Nation's Teachers and Students onFinancial Literacy Skills (CENTS) Act (H.R. 2990) would establish acommission to weave economic and personal finance into the schoolsystems at all grade levels. “Helping our nation's youth acquirevaluable financial management skills early in life will betterprepare students to make sound decisions that impact theirfinancial well being into the future,” CUNA President and CEO DanMica acknowledged in the Sept. 22 letter. He also pointed outCUNA's work with the National Endowment for FinancialEducation.
