ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA issued multiple prohibition orders last week. Orders were issued against Ibell Abellon, former loan officer, Southland Credit Union, Downey, Calif.;Connie M. MacLean, former employee, Searles Lake Federal Credit Union, Trona, Calif.; Martha Richardson, former employee, Haverhill Municipal Employees Credit Union, Haverhill, Mass.; and April May Tippins, former loan officer, 20th Century Fox Federal Credit Union, Los Angeles, Calif. Abellon pleaded guilty to one count of bank embezzlement and was sentenced to two years in prison, supervised release for five years and ordered to pay restitution of $237,420.70. In addition, MacLean pleaded guilty to counts of misapplication of credit unions funds, and aiding and abetting, causing an act to be done. She was sentenced to one-month imprisonment, three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $18,000 in restitution. Without admitting or denying guilt, Richardson and Tippins consented to orders prohibiting them from further participation in the operation of any federally insured financial institution. Abellon and MacLean are also banned from participating in the operation of any federal insured financial institution. Violating a prohibition is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment and up to $1 million fine.
