PEWAUKEE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Credit Union League was recently presented the `Beyond the Paycheck' award from The Business Journal in the category of internal leadership in recognition of the league's initiatives to demonstrate strong internal leadership among its employees. League President/CEO Brett Thompson, for example started the `brown bag lunch program' as a way to bring the League's 44 staff members together at least once a month to exchange ideas, information, and suggestions for the company. The League also holds luncheons for staff to mingle with the board of directors, and it recently held a management retreat that involved the entire management team in developing business strategies for the organization. Staff are also selected to act as representatives of the League at chapter meetings. The Business Journal is a weekly newspaper whose circulation includes most of southeastern Wisconsin.
