BOULDER, Colo. – U of C Federal Credit Union said Aug. 20 it is doing its part to provide consumer assistance on the deadly West Nile Virus hitting Boulder County by using its newly launched Web site to provide prevention advice. U of C announced in June the start of a "Reality Check" consumer Web site devoted primarily to financial issues and articles by Atlanta, Ga.-based consumer advocate Remar Sutton, but it decided to also use the Web site for public help regarding the West Nile crisis. "With 299 cases in the Denver Metro area and the most reported deaths in the country, this information pertains to all Colorado residents," said the Boulder CU. The CU Web site contains current information for the public "on how to protect yourself from the disease" as well as national statistics and "prevention tips and ways to mosquito proof your home."
