BEAVERTON, Ore.- Credit Unions for Kids has presented the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with two checks expected totaling nearly $375,000. The first check presented includes proceeds from a unique car raffle sponsored by Auto Solution and the second is from the 4th Annual Hank & Moose Open celebrity golf tournament. The donation will benefit Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, and the pediatric wards of Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene and Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, through Credit Unions for Kids. First Tech Credit Union CEO Tom Sargent and Clark County School Employees Credit Union CEO Roger Michaelis were on hand to personally present the checks to the hospital. Credit Unions for Kids is in the fifth year of a five-year campaign, with a goal to raise $2.5 million to endow the Chief of Pediatrics Chair. In recognition of support for the Chief of Pediatrics Chair, the endowment will be identified, for perpetuity, as the Credit Union Chair. This is the first endowment of this kind. The presentation of these two checks will bring the total Credit Unions for Kids funds raised to date to nearly $2.4 million. Credit Unions for Kids is Doernbecher’s most successful fundraising program.
