HOUSTON – Cardtronics, the Independent Service Organization which is one of the principal deployers in ATM National's Allpoint Network, is now even bigger. The company announced that it has acquired over 1,700 machines from New York based American Express. The addition takes Cardtronics to over 12,500 ATMs. "We are pleased to be serving the ATM needs of our new clients, many of whom are longstanding, prominent names in American retailing," said Jack Antonini, chief executive officer of Cardtronics. "The geographic and category diversity of this portfolio nicely complements our existing business." "As Cardtronics moves forward with its strategic acquisition program, increased economies of scale will allow us to offer additional value not only to all of our merchant clients, but also to our growing base of financial institutions partners," he said.
