SAN DIEGO, Calif. – California Coast Credit Union has earned second place honors in the $200 million-plus asset category of the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Awards. The awards are presented for outstanding leadership within the credit union movement in the area of financial literacy for youth. CCCU's various financial literacy efforts range from sending staffers into high school classrooms to conduct interactive hands-on financial literacy workshops, to participation in the Newspapers in Education's Home Words program, which uses current events to teach high school students about personal finance. The Desjardins Youth Financial Education Awards are administered at the state level by the California Credit Union League.
