HAKENSACK, N.J. – Fed up with identity theft, a recent Privacy & American Business (P&AB) survey finds that more consumers are proactively involved in fighting back. According to the survey, of the 80% who say they are concerned about their consumer privacy today, some 33.4 million have taken steps to protect their privacy including the purchase of credit check and identity theft protection products. In addition, the P&AB survey finds that these "privacy self-help consumers" represent a diverse cross-section of consumers. With privacy products averaging $75, the privacy protection product market value has jumped up to approximately $2.5 billion.
