SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Security Service FCU, the largest CU in San Antonio, and the twelfth largest in the U.S., has reached more than $3 billion in assets. The CU also recently got its 500,000th member. Chartered in 1956, SSFCU was the first credit union in San Antonio to implement online banking. Its program, CompuBranch, currently has more than 209,000 users. SSFCU was also the first to introduce remote teller systems – the PassVault System – that use video screens and cameras that increase efficiency and security, while maintaining a personal touch with members. The credit union's Member Contact Center is open 24/7, its Service Centers are regularly open on Saturdays. Some are also open Sundays, and those Service Center that are located in area malls are open during mall hours. President/CEO David Reynolds said "our service and attention to the members' needs have been cornerstones on which SSFCU was built." SSFCU has 20 branches throughout the greater San Antonio area. It will soon be opening its newest Service Center, and later this year the credit union will open its most northern facility. SSFCU also has six Colorado facilities.
