Power 1 Credit Union President/CEO Henry Prior and his wife Karen had never owned a dog until 11 years ago when their chow Retriever/mutt Bare entered their lives. Karen teaches 5th grade at an inner city school and she noticed a little puppy lying in the dirt on the schoolyard for two days. A girl from her class placed the puppy in a cardboard box and Karen took it to the vet. She never told her husband anything about the puppy until after the pup survived an eight-day animal hospital stay. When Henry arrived home that night, his wife informed him that "He" had a dog. There in the family room sat a puppy who was hairless and smelly from mange treatments. When Karen first brought the pup to the animal hospital the vet said he was barely alive-so they decided to name the world's best dog "Barely Alive Prior". Affectionately referred to as "Barely" or "Bare", Henry says the most intruders have to fear from him is that he doesn't beat them to death with his wagging tail. Henry M.
