TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For Hank Klein, CEO of the $350 million Arkansas Federal Credit Union, based in Jacksonville Arkansas, joining the board of Credit Union 24, the credit union owned fee-free ATM network based in Tallahassee, Florida, has meant a trip back to his roots. "I was on the board of Credit Union 24 back when it was first getting underway," Klein said. "I look forward to being part of the growing organization." Klein said he was part of CU-24 when only a few credit unions in Florida belonged to the group and that he had brought Arkansas Federal into CU24 after he took the helm of the state's largest credit union and began to see the benefit of increased networking for his members. "There aren't many credit unions in Arkansas, but we are the biggest," Klein said, adding that that gave Arkansas Federal some opportunity to set the pace. Klein said he was particularly interested in helping CU24 grow because 6,000 of his 57,000 members actually reside outside Arkansas, giving the credit union a membership with a nationwide spread.
