State Employees Federal Credit Union President/CEO Jim Blaine says his poodle "Leggett" is one of his favorite animals. "I've always been partial to the underdog, and you know poodles have long had a reputation for being slow and a bit silly. Well, right, `Leggett' is not much on economics and surely can't write, but he's stubbornly loyal. And, poodles know how to follow instructions. You can put an idea into `Leggett's' head and he'll yip away at it all night long," said Blaine. "That's why there are no stray poodles; poodles are always a pet – kept up by someone. `Leggett's' that kind of poodle!" Credit Union Times wondered if the poodle was named after the American Bankers Association Chief Economist Keith Leggett, to which Blaine responded "I couldn't think of anything more cruel than naming a dog after an economist."
