Sooner or later we were bound to set another record for most pages in a single weekly issue of Credit Union Times. And that’s exactly what we did with this issue at 128 pages. And that in turn caused another first. This issue represents the first weekly issue in over 13 years of publishing that the record-setting number of pages required us to go to a printing technique known as perfect bound. The traditional saddle stitching served us well all the way up to the previous record of 120 pages. But when our planning for this issue, which also has bonus distribution to 2,000-plus attendees at the NAFCU Conference in Boston, showed that we would have to boost it to 128 pages, binding with staples was no longer an option. This record issue could not have been produced in less than a week without the support of our advertisers. Nor without the incredible skills and dedication of our high-tech printer. But most of all, what made 128 pages doable was a lean, but extraordinarily talented editorial and production team that burned many gallons of midnight oil for the past week. Because of this teamwork, this fact-filled issue contains something for everyone. It has dozens of timely news stories with high-quality supporting graphics. It has the definitive story on UBIT. It has a wide variety of special features about literally hundreds of credit union people. And much more. What’s most important, however, is that record-breaking issues like this one enable Credit Union Times subscribers to be the most well-informed readers.
