WASHINGTON – The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) will hold its 2003 Annual Conference at the Fontainebleau Hilton and Resort in Miami Beach, Fla., October 12-14. The Honorable Jeb Bush, governor of Florida, has been invited to deliver the opening remarks. ACLI's annual conference offers a forum for life insurance and financial services executives to learn more about issues facing the industry. This year's theme, "Today's Challenges-Tomorrow's Opportunities," illustrates the depth and breadth of conference topics, including insurance regulation, industry tax challenges, financial privacy, and the future of retirement security products. The full conference features nationally recognized speakers who will lend their expertise to the programs, with MSNBC's Bill Press as the master of ceremonies. Over the course of the conference, attendees will hear from Pulitzer Prize-winning author and humorist Dave Barry and National Public Radio's award-winning legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg. She will discuss the latest court developments and legal issues affecting the industry. Also, futurist Watts Wacker will examine how organizations and companies can navigate the sea of change in the new millennium. Concurrent breakout sessions will cover nine disciplines including legal, legislative and regulatory, and investment financial tracks.
