Robins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., has awarded scholarships to five high school seniors. Each year, Robins FCU selects the best of high school graduating seniors and awards them the honor of being a member of the Most Excellent Senior Team. Recipients will each receive a one-year, $1,000 scholarship to help further their education. South Jersey Federal Credit Union, Deptford, N.J., has awarded college scholarships to twelve high school graduates. The scholarships, totaling $3,000 were awarded based on academic achievement, commitment to service and outstanding leadership. Scholarships were awarded to Kevin Joseph Tracy; Christina Marie Gaskill; Brenna Christensen; Kristina Steelman; Tia Dominique Smith; Luis A. Soto; Chidimma Acholonu; Aizen Stokes; Scott Read; Avery E. Watkins; Matthew R. Bailey; and Reynaldo Manosca, Jr. Raritan Bay Federal Credit Union, Sayreville, N.J., has awarded $500 scholarships to three outstanding local high school students. Scholarships were awarded to Erin Campbell, Patricia Norek, and Lauren O’Connell. Winners were selected based on scholastic achievement, extra curricular and community activities, teacher references, leadership qualities and written essays. Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, Md., has awarded college scholarships to five area high school seniors. A $1,000 award and four $250 runner-up awards were given through the credit union’s financial literacy Students, Teens, and Young Adults Reaching Success through Savings Program. Stacey Edwards, a senior at Rising Sun High School in Cecil County, is the recipient of the $1,000 STARSS Scholarship for 2003. Recipients of the $250 scholarships are Amanda Longo, Lindsay Hannum, Sarah Burnett, and Megan Quigg. Eagle Community Credit Union, Lake Forest, Calif., has recently awarded five $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Selections were made by the Board of Directors’ Scholarship Committee and checks were awarded by volunteer ECCU team members at student ceremonies. ECCU has promoted higher learning among its young members by offering educational scholarships every year for the past 15 years.
