Robins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., staffers have donated their time to students in an underserved area. Employees took part in the Reading Coalition at Lindsey Elementary and read over 89 hours, reading to a total of more than 100 students throughout the 2002-2003 school year. The goal of the program is to help promote literacy in schools. WESTconsin Credit Union, Menomonie, Wis., has donated a prize to Jim Farmer, owner of River Falls Electric for his donation to the Children's Miracle Network. Farmer was chosen as the winner of a Green Bay Packers Party Pack, including a sweatshirt signed by Packer kicker Ryan Longwell, a spokesperson for Wisconsin credit unions. WCU received the Packer prize to give away as part of the annual CMN Chain of Hearts fundraising campaign. Farmer's business was randomly chosen as the winner from the many contributing businesses in this year's campaign. WCU was this year's top fundraising credit union, raising more than $22,000 for CMN. MidWest Financial Credit Union, Ann Arbor, Mich., has collected and donated $250 and more than 100 pounds of food to Food Gatherers, a non-profit food bank serving Washtenaw County. The two-day food drive was part of an informational campaign for the credit union's Invest and Win certificate promotion.
