Santa Ana Federal Credit Union, Calif., has donated $1,000 to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. The funds were raised by selling five-dollar Candy Safes. Virginia Credit Union, Richmond, employees have volunteered their time to help second and third grade students from Patrick Henry Elementary School bring their reading fully to grade level. Through the Howard Street Tutoring Program, students strengthen their skills and benefit from one-to-one attention that is not always possible in class. So far, tutors have spent more than 114 hours with the students CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Lenexa, Mo., and U.S. Central Credit Union staffers joined forces to help their community prepare its parks and pools for the upcoming summer season. Nearly 90 employees from U.S. Central Credit Union and CommunityAmerica Credit Union participated in “cLen-exa.” Work projects included mulching and grading landscaped areas, spreading mulch and sand at city playgrounds, refurbishing a beach at the city pool, and picking up trash along roadways and in city parks. TruWest Credit Union, Scottsdale, Ariz., staffers have donated their time to help sponsor a booth at the outdoor camping, music, and food festival – Country Thunder USA-Arizona. Over 150,000 attendees came to watch more than 40 of country music’s top entertainers perform. Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Manhattan Beach, Calif., has raised nearly $17,000 for the 7th Annual AIDS Walk for Minority Women and Children and the 10th Annual Revlon Run/Walk for Women. The Kinecta Community Team of Kinecta employees, family and friends joined more than 70,000 other runners and walkers in the two events, which support the fight against AIDS and women’s cancers.
