HARAHAN, La. – Catherine Mayeux, 40, Louisiana Credit Union League member services consultant for the New Orleans and Bayou areas, was killed recently by her estranged husband in what the League described as "a senseless act of violence." "We mourn the loss of a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a valuable team member," said League President/CEO Ann Cochran. According to The Times-Picayune, Mayeux was stabbed to death on Saturday, April 5 by her husband. He was later picked up by deputies and underwent surgery for a stab wound to the stomach. Mayeux is survived by a 17-year old son and two daughters ages 15 and five. Funeral services for Mayeux werer held April 9.
