Preach on brother! I couldn’t agree more with Mike Welch’s comments in his March 26th column entitled “Private Insurance Attack Sparks Huge Response”. Isn’t this country founded on the “freedom of choice”? Isn’t that why we have multiple political parties? Isn’t that why we are tolerating the war demonstrators in our country? Why else would a trade association made up of federal credit unions want all other credit unions to be required to have their insurance fund, other than they are concerned about the viability of their future? The closeness of the vote referred to in Mike’s column demonstrates this to be a high profile issue, and one that could be divisive enough to undermine much of the cooperative nature on our movement.
