KENTWOOD, Mich. – WESCO, a provider of core processing and Internet banking services and other technologies to 125 credit unions, has changed its name to CU*Answers. That was the name that WESCO has used for several years for its product suite and the 56-owner CUSO has decided that now is the time to make it the corporate name. WESCO is an acronym for West Michigan Computer Co-Operative Inc., and the firm served Michigan organizations only until the mid-1990′s. "With our new brand, we hope to serve an industry, not just a geographical market," CEO Randy Karnes says. "CU*Answers is about the credit union mission and financial solutions for credit union members, and fits our belief that everyone deserves to be a credit union member." CU*Answers' flagship product is its core DP system, CU*BASE. The CUSO's 125 CU clients nationwide represent about 1 million members and $4 billion in assets.
