Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Hanscom AFB, Mass., has recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. To celebrate the milestone the credit union will offer members a weekly Golden Dollars Giveaway. Each week for the entire year, a member of Hanscom FCU will be selected to receive $50 in golden Sacajawea dollars. St. Louis Postal Credit Union, Mo., has celebrated its 75th Anniversary with cakes at every branch. In addition, the credit union ran a special auto loan incentive of depositing $75 into anyone’s account who closed on an auto loan on Founder’s Day. Landmark Credit Union, New Berlin, Wis., has reached 100,000 members. To celebrate, LCU presented the lucky 100,000th member Michael Monroe with a $1,000 check. His name was selected from a random drawing. Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union, Myrtle Beach, S.C., had an unexpected guest at its annual “potluck” employee luncheon- United States Congressman, Henry Brown. Brown sampled some of CTFCU President/CEO Jim McDaniel’s famous spicy fried turkey and explained that he stopped by because “credit unions have done a lot for me throughout my political career so I’m honored to be here.” AEA Federal Credit Union, Yuma, Ariz., has been named “Best of Yuma” for the second consecutive year. The competition, which is sponsored by the Yuma Sun newspaper, allows residents to vote for their favorite organizations in various categories. Teachers Federal Credit Union, Farmingville, N.Y., has experienced another banner year in 2002 with a record setting $27 million net income. In addition total assets increased 27%, totaling $1.4 billion by year’s end. Deposits soared 27% to $1.26 billion. Loans grew 11% to $602 million and the credit union’s membership growth increased more than 10%, to 129,000 members.
