PENSACOLA, Fla. – Gov. Jeb Bush was on hand for the March 18 groundbreaking of Navy Federal Credit Union's first remote, inbound call center. The 56,000-square-foot center scheduled to open in December, will employ 500 people by 2008. The credit union has also optioned an additional 10 acres of land adjacent to their initial site for future expansion. "Escambia County is an ideal location for this new service center not only because of its long history with the Navy but because of its quality work force," Bush said. Navy Federal was the first to commit to using space at the 67-acre Bell-Heritage Oaks Commerce Park, said President/CEO Brian McDonnell. County officials are looking to woo up to 10 more companies to the site.
